Did you write the letters to Casa Roble High School?
Why the delay with "Father of the Year?"
Why do you make fun of Polly Klass?
If you don't like Polly Klass, does that mean you like Richard Allen Davis?
Where did you come from/What gives you the right to rap?
Are you anti-American/unpatriotic?
Why do you dress like a yuppie?
What are your political views/Who are you voting for?
No, of course I didn't. This is about music, not criminal acts. I was investigated by the Sacramento Sheriff's department on the issue and have not been arrested. I issued a statement the day of the threat was reported and that is my final say. I had nothing to do with it, and I have no knowledge of who did.
Part of me, though, thinks that there never were any letters. I think the letters either never existed or they were written by a faculty member at Casa Roble.
Sounds far fetched? Let's look at the facts:
The letters (there were two of them) were mailed directly to the police. Why? The threat was made against the school. The letters would have been sent there. Also, if it was a real criminal, sending them to the police would ensure that they got properly handled (put in an evidence bag, fingerprinted, stored away, etc.) If they were sent to the school, everyone from the principal to the janitor would get their greasy fingerprints all over the letters, making an investigation that much harder.
Who stands to gain from the threat? Not me, I had cops on me all summer. Not the students, who had to put up with a Gestapo presence at the graduation. 42 cops, complete with helicopters and K-9s watched over Casa Roble like guards at Auschwitz. So I lose out, the students lose out. But the Casa Roble administration looks like heroes, standing up to a violent threat. And next time budget cuts come around, they can say "but look at all the problems we have! We have to deal with insane students!"
The letters, the actual letters themselves have never been released to the media and no one has ever been charged. No one. Seven months later, and there is nothing. The letters' existence was never even acknowledged on the Sacramento Sheriff's website.
We've all been punked by a bunch of child molesters who run Casa Roble.
Why the delay with "Father of the Year?"
I know, I know. It's late. From 10/05 to 3/06. It's a stretch. Drusilla came back then left again, we're trying to build our own studio, there are more songs on the new CD and I'm slacking off. Honestly, it's just all those things, and I know it's unprofessional to be this late. And I'm sorry.
I don't make fun of Polly Klass. I'm not making light of the situation either. She was murdered by a brutal man, and that man is paying the price.
My beef isn't with Polly, it's with her father. I have a problem that he makes his living off his daughter's death. I think that is the most depraved thing a victim could do.
Case in point: I believe John Walsh is an American hero. A true hero. His son was murdered, but he took his tragedy and created "America's Most Wanted." He has helped literally countless people through his great work.
Marc Klass, on the other hand, is a half-ass John Walsh, who's only claim to fame is that his daughter was killed. He's become a Fox News Correspondent because of it, and created a foundation that does nothing more, really, then report when kids are lost and found.
It wouldn't bug me so much if he wasn't so out and about, or he was always in the limelight but was productive. But he's neither, he's right in the middle.
A rich white girl gets killed, and a parent can make it a full-time job, with benefits, to grieve her death to the world. A poor kid gets killed (Riyla Wilson) and the parents are lucky to pay for the funeral.
Dead Rabbit is gang slang from the late 1800s. A "rabbit" was some one who was tough or a bully, and "dead" meant better or great. A Dead Rabbit was someone who was untouchable, a "super tough guy."
The Dead Rabbits was also the name of an Irish street gang in New York, and went down in history during the Dead Rabbit Riots. They attacked the police and rival gangs alike, and dominated the Five Points. Read more about it in "The Gangs of New York"
As for why I picked that name, it was an name I has stuck in my head since I was 15, and being of Irish/Basque descent, I knew I would pick a name from one of my two cultures.
This is a pretty common question, one about street cred. There's really two answers to this
Answer A. I rap about what I believe in, or what's personally affected me. I've been so poor I've gone days without eating. I've been homeless. I've done things I'm not proud of, and I've yet to pay for any of it, and I got that shit hanging over me every day. So when I rap about wanting to change things, I'm not "stealing a culture," I'm telling a story from my point of view: the view of disenfranchised worker.
The fact that people believe white people can't, or shouldn't rap, is one that should be very worrying. If you think how many people believe that, and don't give white rappers a chance, truly shows that many people are still racist. If you're not willing to give a white rapper a fair shot, are you any better than a white businessman not willing to give a black executive a chance?
Answer B. Fuck street cred. Very few rappers have done half of what they say. Rock stars don't get judged on their "cred." Ozzy still fucks shit up, but looks like a Domestic Diva on his show. No one ever makes sure Limp Bizkit really "rolls" or Aerosmith makes love in elevators. Why is it so important in rap? It's a marketing tool, and one that has cut down the lives of several of the greatest talents in the game.
I don't think I'm anti-American at all. In fact, I consider myself a patriot. I want to see America succeed, I want us to have a powerful army for our own protection, and I want to see our politicians take on despots where ever they are
What I am not for is big business dictating American policies. I want to see all corporate money removed from politics, and I want to see PACs dissolved. I firmly believe that America, and the American people, can keep this country as great as it has been in the past.
Corporations like Betchel want to make a buck off the bodies of dead GIs in Iraq. They only care about the oil. Don't believe me? Then answer this: Why aren't we liberating the people of Liberia, Cuba, Euskara, or countless others? Because there is no profit in these struggles.
We need to be an all-powerful military force and a massive economic power; I believe that is in the best interest of America and the rest of the world. But we need to be these things for the good of the world, not for the profit of a few select companies.
This is an easy one: I dress like those I want to destroy. It's easy for the System to say; "People who dress in all black are freaks" or "Don't hire that guy, he dresses like a thug." But when the subversives dress the same as them, it's harder for them to point us out.
Imagine if we all dressed in suits and ties. If we all infiltrated their gated communities, got hired in their businesses, married into their families, and then one night, crushed them all. We could soil their boardrooms with their blood and bring their daughters back to our ghettos
As long as they can dismiss us as thugs and freaks, we will not be able to take them on head-to-head.
Who I vote for varies from election to election. I do not vote along party lines, nor do I belong to any political party. The last two presidental elections I voted for Nader, but I voted for Schwarzenegger for governor of California. I really can't make a blanket statement ahead of time who I would vote for, I usually don't make my mind up until the last few months of the campaign.
As far as my political views go, this is a short list:
Gun Control: I believe that the federal government should not regulate firearms. Our only protection against a corrupt administraion is to fight it, toe to toe.
Welfare: I am for welfare and most forms of governement assistance. I believe one of the main duties of the federal government is to assist the people who need it.
Corporate Welfare: It should be abolished. If companies can't make it on there own, them let them dine on shit.
States' Rights: I believe that all powers not granted to the federal goverment in the Constituion must be given to the states.
Abortion: I believe this should be a states' rights issue. Each state should be allowed to make it's own abortion laws.
