| Letter Threatens Violence
at High School Graduation |
School officials are taking
seriously a letter that threatens violence at the upcoming
graduation ceremonies at Casa Roble High School.
The
letter, which makes references to the shooting spree at
Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado, was received on
Friday. It threatens harm to all who attend the graduation
ceremony at the school's stadium on Thursday night.
In
response to the letter, the principal at the Orangevale high
school has sent a letter home to parents detailing increased
security measures for graduation night. The letter makes it
clear that law enforcement will be on hand for the graduation,
and imposes a number of restrictions on those planning to
attend.
The principal has arranged for security
personnel to search anyone entering the stadium. Attendees
will not be allowed to bring coolers, ice chests, backpacks or
other large containers to the ceremony.
Parents and
students seeking additional information on the threat or the
security procedurces are asked to call the school office at
(916) 971-5452. |
